In Eternal, a twisted college romance, Declan Pierce, a sadistic bully and tormentor, has made Teal’s life a living hell. When Teal’s father arranges an unwanted marriage, Declan offers her a deal: fake-date him instead. But Declan wants more than just her on his arm. He demands her body, her submission, and the painful truth behind the trauma that landed her in Montgomery Psychiatric Ward three years ago. What starts as a bargain turns into an unrelenting cycle of psychological and emotional torture, leaving Teal questioning whether she can let their fake relationship go when the time comes, especially when it becomes clear that she is actually totally in love with him. With morally irredeemable characters, heavy themes, and explicit content, this is a romance for those who dare to venture into the darkest corners of desire and control.

Ms. Simmons, what are in your books? Send help, because I read this in one sitting, and it will now consume my mind for the next 5 to 7 business days.

I really enjoyed Teal and Declan’s story, but if I’m being honest, I didn’t love it quite as much as I loved Saint. While I definitely appreciated their backstory, and I thought Teal’s struggles were portrayed incredibly well, I just didn’t feel the same depth of connection to Declan as I did with Kole in Saint. Declan is undoubtedly ruthless and would do anything for Teal, but for some reason, I found him a bit flat in comparison. His intensity and drive are there, but I think the inner turmoil and tension I loved in Saint/Kole was missing in him. And for the story content, I think there needed to be more acknowledgement from him in response to Teal. Don’t get me wrong—he’s still a powerful and intriguing character, but for me, he didn’t hit the same high notes. Nonetheless, the story itself is gripping, and I’m glad I got to experience Teal and Declan’s journey.

That being said, I CANNOT WAIT for Alex and Mira’s story.
