I absolutely LOVED Leave Me Behind—and I’m talking straight-up obsession-level love here. This book had me hooked from the very first page, and I ended up devouring it in a single sitting. I honestly could’ve read more—like, a lot more. If there’s one thing I can say for sure, it’s that Bradshaw definitely knows how to captivate an audience.
Let’s start with the main character, Bunny (Nell). She was everything I wanted her to be and more. Fierce, resilient, and carrying that perfect balance of vulnerability and strength that makes for such an engaging heroine. The chemistry between her and Bones was electric, and their meeting—well, let’s just say it couldn’t have been more perfectly timed for this kind of tension-filled, enemies-to-lovers romance. Their dynamic was both frustrating and addictive in all the right ways.
The twist in the plot? Yeah, we could all probably see it coming, but honestly? It didn’t matter at all. The execution was so well done that it hit just right when it needed to. The pacing was spot-on, never slowing down long enough for me to even think about putting the book down. The action, the stakes, and the emotional weight of the story kept me on the edge of my seat.
Bones is exactly the kind of brooding, tortured “hero” (if you could even call him that) I didn’t know I needed. Cruel, unforgiving, and with so many layers of complexity, he was the perfect foil to Bunny’s strength. The way their relationship evolves—especially when they’re forced to rely on each other after their mission goes off the rails—had me glued to every page.
I do wish it was a bit longer—I wanted more of their journey, more of the world-building, but honestly, it’s a testament to how compelling this story is that I finished it in one go and immediately wanted more.
In short, Leave Me Behind is a high-stakes, action-packed thrill ride that will keep you turning pages long after you should’ve gone to bed. If you’re a fan of dark romance with a side of suspense and a heavy dose of tension, this is thebook you’ve been waiting for.
Highly recommend if you like dark military romance!
